The Everyday Life Collector
My favourite exhibition from this year’s festival is The Everyday Life Collector, organised by Apartamento and Max Lamb. It’s a collection of pottery by Richard Lamb, Max’s father.
At first sight I didn’t really appreciated the collection as a whole but got into it once I had the chance to discuss a bit more with Max, [...] -
The Ten Collective at 100% Design
Author: Brit Leissler
100% Design has opened yesterday and I had a good look around (still counting the blisters on my feet). A very nice little show within this big one is, as every year, the work of the TEN collective. This year they present TEN XYZ – an exploration of their varied perspectives on the complex issues [...]

The Dock: Curated by Tom Dixon
Author: Jean Aw, NOTCOT
Freshly back from the party at The DOCK, described as ‘An emporium of creative talent instigated by Tom Dixon and sponsored by Derwent London.’ And before I even show you what’s inside, coming back to the hotel and browsing the pics, the way the space photographs as the sun set was just so fun… (view photos)

V&A – The festival’s central ‘hub’ this year, with shows/happenings all over the museum; dramatic “chair arch” (in the garden) made from Ercol chairs by designer Martino [...] -
Pedigree designers see the beauty of mongrel furniture
Author: Dominic Lutyens
Table lamps made from parquet. Cabinets wrapped in carpets. An anglepoise lamp attached to a skateboard. Hybrid furniture is the hottest trend right now and the capital’s hip hotels are getting in on the act.
In Rough Luxe, the achingly cool King’s Cross hotel owned by London-based interior designer and gallery owner Rabih Hage, you’ll find [...] -

British Design Process?
Author: Tim Parsons
Thoughts in response to the post:
Is there a British Design Process?
As it involves intuition as well as cold logic, the design process is open to being shaped by the environment in which it takes place. (What we see day to day can make a random connection in our minds that sparks an idea). It will [...]
