About

The Incidental is a community-generated news pamphlet and website at international design events which offers debate, reviews, news updates and recommendations by tapping into what everyone is talking about.

SO FAR
The Incidental was launched in April 2009 for the Milan Furniture Fair reaching an estimated 20,000 people from over 50 countries around the world.  The Incidental in Milan connected conversations and encouraged debate on UK contemporary design both among visitors to the furniture fair and among the design community around the world.

During the London Design Festival (19 – 27 Sep 2009) The Incidental offered an open platform for everyone to discuss UK contemporary design. Throughout the festival we published everyone’s reviews, news updates and recommendations which were then shared with the design community and in four printed editions distributed across London throughout the festival.
